The Netflix platform revealed the production of a second season of the anime adaptation of the manga written by and illustrated in Japanese by Kousuke Obono, Gokushufudou (“The Way of the Househusband”) at the TUDUM Japan 2022.
A few stills were revealed in the press release. The second season is set to debut in Japan in January 2023.
The first part was released on the Netflix platform in April 2021. The second part was published in October 2021.
Oono has been publishing manga through Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch digital platform since February 2018.
Summary Gokushufudou Anime
Tatsu, the Immortal, a legendary yakuza who brought down rival gangs using a lead pipe, is known for frightening the most difficult cops and dangerous criminals. He returned to his former profession shortly after his sudden disappearance. Tatsu now has an apron and is trying to make a living as a housewife.
Tatsu adjusts to her normal housework and discovers that being a housewife has its challenges. There are the battles of grocery store sales and kitchen failure. Tatsu is a peaceful man who seems to be plagued by misunderstandings. Gokushufudou is a serious ex-yakuza who lives a normal life as a husband and stay-at-home father.
